I'm going to see Charley Crockett at a show soon. Anyone seen him live?

About 5 or 6 times. Saw him new years eve about 7 or 8 years ago in a tiny place and only about 20 people were there. I've seen him when he had just hired a band and was calling out the chords to the next song since the band didnt know the songs. Used to see him at my local whole foods getting lunch at the salad bar.

I first heard of him last month on an eclectic radio program that plays alot of different stuff. I thought he was an old country singer that I hadn't heard of. I looked him up and saw that the song was off the latest album.

He has apparently went all in with country. He was kind of genreless prior and that's a hard place to be to get noticed.

He does alot of country covers as I'm sure you know. Imo, the guy is better than the original singers. His newest album is great. He went throwback, old country and pulled it off. I hope he gets air time.

Trinity River is from about 10 years ago. He was doing stripped down old country blues back then but then went off on some different tangents and I lost interest in him. Glad he has gotten back to a more country sound since that is his strength.

Yes, about 5 years ago at a music festival. He sounds great live. It was one of those moments watching someone unfamiliar and you stop and think “this guy’s pretty good, I’ll have to listen to more of his stuff”.

Haven't seen him live but would like to.

Hippies and Cowboys podcast has an episode with him. Talks about spending time in New Orleans with an uncle as a kid, and later playing on the streets of the Quarter to drunk tourists. He seems like the real deal.

Been fortunate enough to see him. Guy is super talented. Looking to make a couple shows in east Texas this year. Hope he starts playing Louisiana soon.
