Iggy Pop's The Idiot appreciation thread

My favorite Iggy Pop album by far. A few things about the album I read on the internet I thought were cool:

-This is the album that Ian Curtis was listening to when he killed himself

-It is basically a Bowie album, done around the same time as Low and the rest of his mid 70's Berlin stuff. Bowie has been quoted as saying: "Poor Jim, in a way, became a guinea pig for what I wanted to do with sound. I didn't have the material at the time, and I didn't feel like writing at all. I felt much more like laying back and getting behind someone else's work, so that album was opportune, creatively."

-Dum Dum Boys is a song about The Stooges ex-members, and did not go over well with them apparently

-The kick drum from "Nightclubbing" is sampled in Nine Inch Nail's song "Closer"

- The song "Nightclubbing" was made very late at night, with the music done in one take with Iggy on a drum machine and Bowie on a piano, and the lyrics right after that one take. It's actually Bowie singing the lyrics and Iggy Pop's voice just overdubbed on the track.
