Also, it’s pretty fascinating how it all happened so fast, with many of these guys going from being relative nobodies, to contracts and huge tours within a year or so time. And then ended pretty fast too. Of course in many cases the ending was from literal death.

Yet the same fricking mid tier rappers are still around 20+ years later

Doing things like fricking people out of money with a fyrefest, making bad movies or screwing up halftime shows

Sorry, chief, but Silverchair wasn't second-rate. They quickly evolved away from their fairly grunge-derivative roots. That said, can you really bag on a bunch of 15 year old "grunge" fans for sounding a bit like their heroes. They had all but completely shed that by their Neon Ballroom.

What new Ja Rule songs have you heard recently? How many did you hear leading up to fyrefest? Do such rappers need to die to be out of cultural consciousness for you?
