Can we just sticky a damn thread for all the old farts to gripe about how great music once was when they were young and how it sucks now?

The OP suggested this, almost everyone (correctly) disagreed, and she relented.

My "pwablim" is that these types of threads are posted at least on a weekly basis and adds nothing to the board. It's the same argument in every thread, though the topic may be slightly different.

This will always be the case on every board. Common topics are common, and not every poster reads every board every day or even every week.

Dont click it.

I don't listen to a lot of current music

There's more good song writing now than ever and there's more music than ever. There's more people writing. There's more technology. You just gotta find the right stuff. If Beyonce is where you choose to look, then for you.

because blogs, facebook, itunes, pandora, spotify, slacker, rhapsody, and all these new resources just make it sooooooo difficult, right?

There's not a lot of good meaningful music on the pop radio stations

I think we all agree that some popular songs have awful lyrics. I guess we just dont get how they get to that level of success with such poor songwriting. But...Its like everything else nowadays where the man tells you what is popular and all the little sheeple go out and buy the new popular stuff whether it by music or clothes. Fortunatley those people dont exist on TD....

Was seriously going to start this exact thread after hearing this...
Truck Yeah.....This truckin sucks!

Worse part is it'll be played on the radio 24/7 until people are brainwashed into thinking it's actually good.

Im in my late 20's...most music that is "popular" today sucks

Except that song was written as a joke. Toby Keith openly admitted the song sucked.
