How about some love for Steve Cropper, Donald "Duck" Dunn and Stax/Volt

Duck was one of my idols. He is the man on rhythm bass.

They were the best 4 pc. band ever. When the horns the Mar-Keys played with them, they were the best. Even the Meters in New Orleans tried to duplicate them at Cosmo's studio in N.O. They had their own songs and albums, backed the Blues Brothers, played often on Saturday Night Live, backed Otis Redding, Carla Thomas, Rufus Thomas, Wilson Pickett, were THE STAX RECORDS band. gee what else could they do? Great. I learned to play guitar in '65,'66'67 from Steve Cropper records. I played their albums all day Saturday in the mid 60's learning Cropper's guitar chords and leads the entire mid-60's. It paid off in the 80's with our Hilton based cover band of Stax and Blue Eyed Soul.
