Thank you, I've been kicking that song idea around for about 30 years trying to get it right. It finally started coming together a few years ago, and the final re-write a few months back.

That's a very cool song. If I had one critique, it would be that it needs a bridge to break it up a bit. That's not a knock at all. Great job.

It has something that I call a lift, but the guy at the studio considers it to be a bridge.
That's the line where it goes " Come this weekend I'm gonna get a life"
It goes from Am-F-G so it varies from the main verse and chorus a little bit.

I’m not familiar with your stuff I apologize. I’m interested to know about your process though. You record demos and then hire people to cut the song with full instrumentation? Are you independent or have a deal?

I'm a songwriter, hoping to find a publishing deal.
I write a song, record it at home with guitar and vocals. I send it to a demo studio ( in this case, Gator hole Recording) He gets a full band recording done with a great singer.
I get that and start pitching it to different publishers.
If a publisher decides to sign the song, they will start pitching it to artists to record.

That’s awesome man! I write as well but just for fun, never thought about publishing anything until past year or so. How long have you been doing it and have you had any success?

Well, I've been writing songs since I was a teenager and started learning to play guitar. That was 50 years ago.
In my twenties, I started recording some of them and going to Nashville and Muscle Shoals to pitch them, but my songs weren't good enough. I found that out and started trying to learn how to get better.
I found out about NSAI, I joined and started going to meetings and critiques and pitch nights in Nashville as much as I could.
My songs started getting pretty good when I was about 30 and I started having some small success. I also had a family by then and was having to focus on that. I started playing guitar less and less and almost quit entirely.
I kept writing things down though, I just didn't work at putting it all together.
Things happened and I got farther and farther away from Nashville to make a living.
Then about 15 years ago, I started playing guitar again and decided I would pursue it again when I retired. That was when covid happened.
I was starting to think that my songs were getting pretty good though and started working harder on my guitar and recording.
Now I'm back about where I was in my 30s and I believe it's going to come together. I'm going to give it my best.
