That is a neck pickup with a bridge that is way out of place.

Saw Clapton live back in 1990. He is truly a master. I was in awe.

Not really, look at the neck, the 12th fret is the one with double dots, the distances from the 12th fret to the nut, the 12th fret to the bridge look to be equal as they should be, meaning the bridge is in the correct location. Possibly the perspective of the photo justvmakes it look odd.

50+ years ago, he was on top, but I wonder if he was better when being pushed by his bandmates- With the Yardbirds, Mayall's Bluesbreakers and Cream he was unreal! By the time he was finished with Blind Faith and Derek & the Dominos, he became more laid back in his style and maybe also the years of heavy drug use did a number on him, but I feel he was no longer the player he was...
