Here’s hoping this doesn’t turn out like Fender/SWR. MB was one of the few bass amp makers who still manufactured in America.

Yuck. Gibson screws up everything they touch. Glad I got my Subway amp last year.

I’m stunned Mesa Boog’s owners & employees aren’t locked up for attempting to ethically run a business that employs and enriches America. Selfish of them to not give all those jobs to sweatshop workers in Korea.
Thank god that Gibson came to the rescue to ensure OWG.
Anyways, fret not over Mesa’s quality. Fauci announced a new strain of covid that affects bass amps so we can’t own them anyway!!

That’s a melodramatic, high quality melt...
And I agree with every single word you said!!!

It's weird that you can file for Bankruptcy and then turn around and make an acquisition.

Randall Smith is 75 I think, he earned his cashout. Good for him. FYI, most of the first tier of MI boutiquers and hotrodders, whether guitars, amps or boutique effects, are getting up there in age. They're next.

Just realized I now have a pre-Gibson Mesa amp. Hope it goes up in value.

Also just saw where Korg bought Aguilar. Having a pre-Gibson Mesa or pre-Korg Aguilar should bring top dollar in the future.
For any baws in the bass amp market who want to buy American made, I think we’re down to Bergantino, Trickfish, and other boutique makers.

Yes, anyone in the market for a Mesa amp, guitar or bass, pull the trigger right now while the existing inventory is out there. In about three months I wouldn't touch one.
There is a guy that works for Mesa on the TalkBass message boards and he is a great guy who is a huge help and wealth of knowledge. He sounds optimistic about them staying the same through this, but I think that is just him trying to stay positive because it is his livelihood. I hope things work out for his sake.

If I had to predict what we're going to see, it's a relatively unchanged USA line, an aggressively promoted and extremely high priced Boogie Custom Shop ... plus a line of M/B amps and pedals built in Asia, to put those circuits in the hands of the same economic tier as the Epiphone market.
Asian lines worked for Mike Soldano and Reinhold Bogner ... and PRS and FMIC ... and of course Gibson ... without compromising sales, profitability, integrity or rep of their flagship line.
