Fret Shack or anyone of the luthier persuasion.

Do you perform neck resets? I know your primary love seems to be electrics. I am building my own acoustic and am down to closing the soundbox and neck joint. I have a simple dovetail joint neck that is pre made.
It is basically a mortise& tenon joint with the flare of the dove tail. The channel for the truss rod is cut and there is a hole drilled on the bottom of the dovetailed tenon. It appears to be some hybrid type of neck design. I am here because I am having a hard time finding a youtube video that addresses this particular joint/style. There are a MILLION neck joint videos but they are compound dovetail or a straight bolt on neck.
Oh Fret Shack I beseech thee.

Is it a dowel set neck? Was there any kind of dowel included in your kit? Where did you buy it from?

No.

eBay but an American seller. Of course he could be selling Chinese necks with extras. Mine came with fret board included.

I only asked about the dowel set neck, because you said it was different, and I've never actually seen one. An old man that I know, that builds some very nice guitars had mentioned them to me, so I started searching for info on them on the internet. Could only find out about 1 company that ever used them, and that was a German Company that was building some guitars for Martin back in the 60s and 70s. couldn't find any pictures or videos of the joint though.

I found one video as well. But this one said they (Martin) used the type joint we are discussing. In the lower hole though is a threaded barrel. To receive a bolt. Just the thread. Not a locking barrel nut.
The video says Martin uses a screw to hold neck in place while the glue sets. This is of course for martins cheaper offerings.

Could you post some photos of what you have? I would be interested in seeing it.

You aren't trying to reset a neck, you're trying to set a neck. I can't pull a clear question out of your post to try and answer it ... what do you need to know? And photos with your question would be helpful.

Try this eBay link.
This is not mine but essentially identical. This one even has the threaded nut. Mine I’d have to buy.

The eBay ad, it looks to me to be a one-bolt version of a Taylor/Seagull style bolt-on acoustic neck. Look at this old Seagull neck ad on Reverb to see a similar bolt-on neck and joint design, but with two heel bolts.
Without knowing the question, I'd bet that Reverb ad's photos sheds light on your mystery bushing's purpose (if that's the question).

Considering the DVD that simply introduced me to resets was a two-hour seminar ... and considering the last reset I did took nine billable hours from start to finish ... and considering you're looking for the path of least $$$.
I recommend you plan to spend an incredible amount of time on YouTube.

Here's what I think you need to do: finish putting your neck together. Install the fretboard but not the frets. Put your body together, but not the bridge yet. Use a straight edge and adjust your truss rod, so that your neck is as straight as possible (you'll probably need to put your neck in a vice, use something soft over the jaws) Go ahead an order some acoustic guitar neck shims, in case you need them. Dry fit everything together and see how it all lines up (center of fretboard from the nut, to center of saddle and fretboard to bridge vertically). At that point, I think it will become clear what you need to do. Take your time here, because this is the most important step in having a good player. If you need some advice or suggestions then, take some photos to show us and come back and ask. I think you can handle it. Keep in mind when you install the bridge, your distance from 12th fret to nut and 12th fret to saddle, need to be close to the same (probably within 1/4" variance, the closer the better though, I'm sure), so you need to assemble your neck and fretboard, and do some measuring, so you will know where to install your bridge. You probably already know this, but I'm throwing it out there, just in case you don't.
And yeah, watch a lot of videos.
You know, you could always drill your own holes near the top of the neck joint to install a barrel nut, to pull your neck on tight, and drill a hole on your guitar, to line up with the hole that is already on your neck joint and install a threaded insert, from the neck side, so that you can use an allen type set screw at the bottom to help get your alignment. It would all be hidden inside the guitar.
You could remove the thread insert that came in your neck and drill across to install a barrel nut there too. Basically just turn it into a bolt on neck. I don't really trust those press in thread inserts to tighten against, the barrel nuts are better.
