Replicants was a four-piece American rock band, consisting of Ken Andrews, Paul D'Amour, Greg Edwards, and Chris Pitman, which has been on hiatus since 1996. The group has only released one album, a self-titled cover album, in 1995. The band's name comes from the verb 'To replicate', or 'To copy', making fun of the band's status as "a tribute band"

Some months after Paul D'Amour left Tool, where he played the role as the bass player, he joined Chris Pitman, a keyboardist, and Failure members Ken Andrews and Greg Edwards. The four decided to restrict their work to covering songs by famous bands active in the 70's and the 80's.

i randomly met chris pitman in LA last summer. He was insanely nice and had some interesting things to say. I'll check out this album.

Void. It wasn't even a proper album, but a split LP with The Faith.

Granted it was a "side project", but...

Arcadia - So Red the Rose.

Sting sings backing vocals on a couple of songs.

Dischord recently released all of their sessions on one album (Session 81-83). It's f'n great. It's not essential, but if you are a fan of Void, it's worth picking up. Great band.

Good choice and one would expect more supergroups on this list - but, for whatever reason, they tend to survive long enough to make at least 2.

I mean I would nominate The Firm for this category, but they put out 2 albums.

On a related note, does the Honeydrippers EP count?
