According to Steve Cropper facebook, "Today I lost my best friend, the World has lost the best guy and bass player to ever live. Duck Dunn died in his sleep Sunday morning May 13 in Tokyo Japan after finishing 2 shows at the Blue Note Night Club."

Booker T and MGs, Blues Bros

Sucks to hear.

The number of hit classic recordings he has sat in on is amazing.

Somewhere Jake Blues is trying to get the band back together.

We had a band powerful enough to turn goat piss into gasoline.

was a hall of famer

Saw him play with several different world class bands

I checked out the link and saw that Matt "Guitar" Murphy sent his condolences.

Didn't he co write the song SITTIN' ON THE DOCK OF THE BAY? I'm a little too young to remember all the tunes that he played on or had credits on.

Sad to hear. One of the best. Spent many nights cruisin with BT&MG's on the radio.

One of the best. I had the honor to meet him and Steve Cropper along with the rest of the Blues Brothers Band back in 94 at the Baton Rouge Blues Fest. I introduced them on stage...what a thrill.

Dunn wasn't the nicest guy to talk to, or didn't really care to, but Steve Cropper sat and talked to us for awhile. Was really awesome!
