I know I know, Donny Osmond. But if you are like me, a child who grew up in the 70's the Osmonds and Jacksons were the teen sensations.

Well, Donny just started a new show at Harrah's in Vegas, and I ran across a video that is part of his show where he does a rap of his entire career. It's actually pretty cool, so I thought I would post it here for anyone interested.

I mean, it was really well put together, and he's okay with including his failures, and I appreciate that.

And his new album is good. The first single titled "Who" has a great beat to it to me. Youtube

First concert I ever remember was The Osmonds in the early 70s. My 5 year old arse fell in love with Marie Osmond that very night. Have been in love with her ever since.

However, I’ve also been an unapologetic Donny Osmond fan as well since the Donny & Marie Show(no homo). I never missed it.
I would party in Vegas with Donny.

I hated Donny because my sister had a huge crush on him. But anybody who can hang around this long must be 1 talented and 2 have his head screwed on relatively straight.

"One Bad Apple" was as good as anything the Jackson 5 was putting out in the day.

Yeah, I have had a crush on Marie for decades I know she has had some "work" done, but she still looks good for 61.

I guess the way youtube algorithm works, since I went to his channel and listed to some of his songs on the new album (they are all available on youtube), I'm getting more Donny items on youtube.
People are posting video clips from the new show, I guess they let people film, and it really looks good. His dance crew are talented as well, and for 63 he still has some moves.
I've also seen a bunch of interviews, and he seems very well grounded for being a "celebrity", but he talks about how the family was taken advantage of right at the end of their popularity in the late 70's, and they lost most of their fortune and had to build it back up. You have to respect that.

His career is very interesting to me. He was one of the most popular entertainers in the world as a child and teen. But he chose to get married at 20 to his now wife of 43 years, and it caused his career to go off a cliff, as most of his fans were young girls.
And he talks about his struggle in the early 80's trying to regain respectability while his friend and fellow teenage star Michael Jackson was obviously becoming the most famous entertainer in the world. That had to be tough.
When he released "Soldier of Love" in 1988 or 89, they released it as "unnamed singer" because of the stigma attached to his name, and it went all the way to #2, and they revealed who it was that sang it, and then the follow up also made the top 20.

And of course, he won Dancing with the Stars, and should have won the Masked Singer season 1, but finished 2nd.

He's really quite talented, and like I said in the other post, his new album has some really good songs on it.
