It's a very cheesy cookie cutter pop song, and he hates it. But to focus on that song and ignore songs like taking on water, wheel, gravity, hell most of continuum, is being willfully ignorant to his talents. You won't find a musician with any sort of good reputation saying he isn't a ridiculous talent.

Also his trio stuff is dope.

Yeah it's terrible, wasn't defending it. Some people throw the baby out with the bath water when talking about him and that song.

But it's about Jennifer Love. When she was hot. It has to get at least 1 or 2 points... no, the song blows. I did get a B.J. while it was playing when it was popular. Carry on.

I can't even fathom the number of girls that have lost their virginity to that song.

Continuum and Born and Raised don't have bad songs on either.

His trio stuff is top notch, which is who he did Continuum with. Where the light Is is him at his best.

I think Paradise Valley is great too. Very grateful dead/folk inspired. Wrote a bunch living on a ranch in montana or something.

Actually I fricking hate that Irish-sounding one that's like 2nd or third on the album. fricking HATE it. But the rest is money.

Glad I got to see that tour - straight up amazing music and tons of 16-24 year old chicks to admire

John Mayer is a very talented stupid piece of shite.

He's a very impressive waste of a musician.

I saw Mayer with Herbie Hancock in Memphis in 2005, but I'd love the see the Trio live.

He is a ridiculous talent. He just produces elevator music.

He's not hating the royalty checks that comes to him for that song though.
