Does anyone here use Amazon music android app?

My question is if you have a similar selection of music compared to spotify, and if you can have custom playlists.
I am debating dropping spotify and buying prime just for the music if the app works similarly.

I use it on Iphone. It's great for my needs and I pull up a lot of 70's and 80's stuff.

Are you able to create custom playlists with the free music from amazon or is it only with purchased music? I mainly just don't want to switch and wind up with a limited selection. Im looking at it as a $24 discount towards prime since unlimited is only 7.99 with prime vs. The 9.99 spotify.
I work independently in vacant homes 40 hrs a week so buying an ad free experience is worth it to me.

absolutely.
My playlists are a mix of songs I own (purchased) and others I can add from their streaming.
I'll dial up maybe yacht rock, or 80's hits or the Willie Nelson station, or whatever. If a song pops up I like, just click the the +add to my playlist

You can create playlists with free music, but it will be limited. The purchased/unlimited music opens up a much wider selection.

Prime doesn't have the full music selection the amazon music app does.

I use the Amazon app on my Android with only Prime access level. I've found enough free music to keep me entertained without feeling the need to upgrade to Unlimited. I also use the playlist feature and find it easy to use and modify as needed.
