Tough times in my home town these days.To get a great retrospective of the music that Mr. Bartholomew recorded with his big band, look up the Jump Children anthology. Great old school rnb.

Bartholomew got overlooked, because he was popular right before Fats, and then took a back seat to him since he was the main songwriter and arranger for Fats' early hits. But, if you dig into Bartholomew's early catalog, you get why many people consider him the father of rock n roll. He, and Louie Prima, were the bridge between jump blues and rock n roll. The man was an iconic figure in the lexicon of music.
