I think Nashville killed country long ago. I also think social media and the like have played a big part. Too many people these days can't form their own opinion. They see a song on the charts, or hear it over and over, and think it must be good if everyone else says so.

Music today is pumped out as fast as possible. Not much on creativity. How long could it have taken to write 5-1-5-0 or Truck Yeah

That and now every new artist sings about how country they are, which is the exact opposite of being country.
