Just stop. This guy exposed the fake "street" Jay Z. He wasn't a thug, didnt carry guns, didn't deal with drugs. All that hard shite he raps about is fake. I know it's tough for you to deal with, but time will heal your hurt.

lists are bullshite. but making a list this idiotic warrants some hating.
also, kevingates — that's an interesting point about notorious dying. he had a great flow though. rakim has had personal problems, and notorious did, too, and i don't know how the b.i.g. would be revered today but you can't take away the legacy of those classics.
as fricked up as it might be, i always said the singer of sublime died at the right time. if he would have stayed alive, he would have been as relevant as the guy from smash mouth. and this is basically what you're saying about biggie and rakim.
everybody loves sublime. sublime is a piece of shite band that had two funny songs, and one was about rape. that guy doesn't die, that band is considered bargain bin. that guy dies, all of the sudden platinum plaques and everyone's calling the junkie a genius. the same thought pattern could be applied to a ton of bands that benefitted from the death of its leaders.
but back to rap, like rock music and a ton of other genres, there is no respect for the history or the craft. so what has replaced greatness is a bunch of rich kids who are rebelling and are not authentic. they know nothing of what it really takes to write a song or craft a sound. they are marketing tools for 60-year-old guys who cant pay off lamborghinis.

And what if Jay went on record tomorrow and said this dude who did a little time was fake, and he makes up random shite for attention? Then what? If you're so easy to convince, I can only imagine you'd believe Jay.

The biggest point that you're missing in this thread is that all of these recent flash in the pan rappers that you are fluffing would tell you that your opinions are shite and you don't have the first idea of what you're talking about.
