cheapest legal way to DL music?...

i heard spotify restructured its DL policy and you cant DL all the music you want with the 9.99/month membership. i would rather not sign up and waste my free month to find out its not worthwhile.
besides the itunes 9.99/album, what is the best legal way to get albums.
my parents have no idea how to torrent so as long as its a simple process, im all ears.

Spotify is worth every penny.

ETA its free on a desktop, mobile is what costs 10 bucks. Download the desktop part and do the 30 day mobile free trial. Youll be throwing the 10 bucks at spotify after those 30 days

I agree with spotify mobile app I have too and use it everyday and I dl music it my playlists so it doesnt use all my data. well worth the $10

Spotify is great, but it needs a Facebook account to be able to use it. Xbox Music is what I use since I have a windows phone. It's great if you have windows 8 too. It's $100/year.

so i get spotify, the 9.99, and i can dl unlimited?
is that drm crap, so when i end the subscription will there be problems with the files?
go easy on me here, i am a lifelong thief so i have no concept on how to pay for music, let alone re-tell this to 60 year old parents.

The desktop part has nothing to do with the 9.99 premium version, but no you cant transfer from Spotify to another place
It makes itunes pretty irrelevant though.

Sure you can't keep the spotify songs if you end the subscription, but you basically have any song at your fingertips. I love it.

Yep. I love hearing a song or rememebering a song i used to love but dont have on my phone and poof two seconds later its on any playlist i want
I hated dealing with bullshite downloading sites and all the crap you have to go through to get them on your phone, Spotify cuts all that crap out
