Ryan Adams has gotten me through a break up or two.

Righteous Brothers - Unchained Melody

Honestly when I listen to this song on headphones where the sound is so much more isolated and think about how much my SO or past breakups mean to me, I literally cry every time. Idc what anyone says real men cry bc they really care.

Already mentioned, but Bell Bottom Blues was the first song I thought of. Black was also a great mention.

How about Bring Me to Life by Evanescence?

Frozen inside without your touch
Without your love, darling
Only you are the life among the dead

I link to the acoustic version because I can't stand the "rap", or however you'd describe the crappy bridge in the studio version.

Dire Straits - Why Worry

The lyrics are optimistic but the music is melancholy. I listened to this a lot when I had a hopelessly broken heart in 1986. I still get teary eyed when I hear it to this day.

Her name was Colleen.
