What was the name of it? It ended up getting canceled. What was the deal with that and does anyone remember some of the acts who were supposed to play?

Big and Rich was one of the "headliners".
IIRC, It was more of a country festival with some rock acts (and may have set the stage for bayou country super fest)
It was going to take place in one of the fields along river road on campus or just south of campus. It was cancelled months before the scheduled date.

Violent Femmes were the rock headliner. I think it was actually planned for some field in St Gabriel but they couldn't get the permits. Probably a lack of interest too. They didn't promote very well.

Nah Bonne fette actually happened...two different years. Pretty sure the festival in question is Rock N Rouge.

IIRC, there was some backlash from the locals in the area surrounding the proposed site. Some were screaming that it was going to turn into some sort of drug-induced free love orgy in their backyard.
