I just heard him. He's exactly as I remember him - an aural emetic.
But concerning "can't sing anymore", I was thinking the same thing about Don McClean. I caught him on Palladia the other day, and I had to turn off his performance of American Pie. He sounded really, really off to me.

Southside Johnny sounded pretty bad Wednesday night. Dave Mason opened for him and he sounded great
