all great rappers are. No uneducated thug from the projects that kills cops and rapes and beats women can rhyme and flow like the best rappers can. Rap is all an act that perpetuates a stereo type.
Here is the resume for some of America's favorite "thugs":

1. Tupac - studied acting, poetry and ballet at the Baltimore School for the Arts as well as performing in various Shakespeare plays and the Nutcracker. Murdered.

2. Biggie -attended a private catholic school, doing extremely well in class and wining numerous creative writing and English awards before transferring to public school. Murdered.

3. Ice Cube - began writing in his keyboarding class, wrote most of the lyrics in NWA, now does family movies and TBS shows. Dead inside.

4. Kanye West - grew up in a middle to upper class suburban neighborhood, his mom was the head of the English department at Chicago State University and his father an accomplished journalist. Now an egocentric jackass with no grip on reality.

5. Snoop Dogg - sang in his church choir and plays piano. Never in a gang, loves weed, now Snoop Lion a terrible rastaregge something or other.

Don't forget this guy...

Danny Brown is pretty out there, not your traditional rapper by any means but definitely intriguing
Yea I'm a fan. He is very different from most rappers but he can still bring it.

Well, I don't know about pushing the envelope lyrically but Jay Electronica is the BEST rapper around right now. Everybody should listen to his shite.

Danny Brown was a good choice. He's definitely different. Talented

Jay Electronica is very good but he doesn't put out much music. Doesn't take away from his talent but does take away from his popularity and impact.

Lots of people push the envelope but most are not new. Murs was listed and it's a good mention but he's been around over a decade. Aesop Rock is the envelope but again has been around for over a decade. No producer/artist pushes the envelope with his new music more than El-P. A lot of people still haven't caught up to his 1st 2 rap albums.
