Some of Country Musics biggest acts are on his new CD playing guitar, drums, & harmonica. It has a great Southern Rock, Country, & Blues sound. I highly recommend giving it a listen. Willie Nelson's gospel singers, Luke Bryan's bass guitar player, & many more.

I liked it & thought I would share. Not sure how something or somebody can be over pushed if you've never heard of them before. He plays the Tx/La area pretty heavy. Not sure if he's ever played in Tennessee.

Both Monty and James Cook are personal friends. I gigged with James on many occasions, along with Derek Mixon who is now playing drums with Chris Stapleton. Louisiana boys are doing well.
Also Derek played on the Traveler CD which picked up 4 Grammy nominations.

I sure wouldn't call Monty "Nashville". I've been listening to him for along time in and around N La for 15 years now. Good people. I had no idea he was producing now. Pretty cool.

I used to hang out with him in high school and college he's a really fun and nice guy. Haven't listened to his music yet but thanks for sharing.

Yep, you're not going to get that "Nashville sound" with Monty and James Cook. I believe this stuff was cut at Cook's studio.
