They posted a message on their social media saying all shows for at least the next month have been cancelled. Anyone know what's going on?

quote:

BP Fam - we regret to inform you all that we’ve had to cancel all of our live music events, and yoga, for at least the next month, starting tonight. We wish this was the best April Fool’s joke in the world, but unfortunately, it is not. We want to thank all the musicians, fans, restaurants and vendors for all the love and support over the last year, and can promise that we will rise from this stronger and better than ever. ???? We love you all so much.

Sincerely,
The BP Team

I have been going to shows there for at least 5 years...when the promotion started hitting Advocate and finally here (where culture goes to die) it was only a matter of time.

I’ve got to imagine the neighbors have been raising hell about the noise. A band I worked with played a party there 15 years ago and the cops came out almost half a dozen times over the course of 4 hours

Never seen the cops there. Neighbors aren’t the type to raise a bunch of hell. Folks across the tracks don’t call police. Volume isn’t tremendous. Modest PA. This isn’t some suburb street corner.

There are competing bars nearby that don’t like a BYOB place taking business away from them so someone complained to the fire Marshall that they didn’t have enough “exits” (it’s literally a wide open outdoor space)

Whole thing is ridiculous and it sure does feel like petty Baton Rouge politics trying to frick up a good thing.
