quote:
In late May of '68, The Beatles convened at 'Kinfauns', George and Pattie's psychedelic bungalow in Esher, Surrey, to record demos of the songs written in India??????
This wasn't their usual approach before embarking on a new project, but the sheer number of fresh compositions necessitated it??
Of the 27 tracks recorded, two ('Mean Mr. Mustard', 'Polythene Pam') were destined for 'Abbey Road' while six ('Junk', 'Child of Nature', 'What's the New Mary Jane', 'Circles', 'Sour Milk Sea', 'Not Guilty') would be shelved. The rest would end up on 'The Beatles??
"I just realized that l've got a really good bootleg tape," George told 'Musician' magazine in the early 1990s. "Demos we made at my house on an Ampex four-track during The White Album."

Top-100 Beatles songs countdown on Ch.18 on XM

Before I retired I had a 35 minute drive to work and a 45-50 minute drive home. The Last Lost Beatles Albums were on a USB stick and I listened to something new every day.
This is a staggering collection of pretty much every Beatle outtake, early versions, partial songs and dialogue available. I find it fascinating and I still sit and listen some of these. Cavern Club, Hamburg, other concerts, studio stuff…any hardcore Beatles fan should have this. 30 discs with of stuff.
Available on the internet; no need to purchase.

Yea, it's interesting stuff. I'm waiting for them to clean up the Live! at the Star-Club in Hamburg, Germany; 1962.

It was “cleaned up” for the album that came out back in the late 70s or early 80s. Live At The Star Club in Hamburg. The Beatles do not own the rights to that so they can’t get it and clean it.
Maybe they could if they tried, I don’t know.
But it’s still sort of muddy sounding. I’m waiting for a good way to clean up the Pink Floyd boots I have. Very tedious with Audacity. I was pissed off Floyd didn’t clean up the Animal Instincts (or Mr Pig) bootleg of the Oakland ‘77 concert, but I am sure the “rights” issue came into play somehow. They should have added it to the Animals box set they put out. It has the Animals songs and Wish You Were Here album live in concert with excellent quality.
But I would like to hear the Hamburg ‘62 songs all cleaned up and sampled correctly.

It's (Live! at the Star-Club in Hamburg, Germany; 1962), owned by Peter Jackson. He's already said that remastering it was one of his upcoming projects.

Wow! I didn’t know that. That is fantastic news, I can’t wait!

I think they need to work on proper Rubber Soul and Magical Mystery Tour re-releases.

If you look around you can find “special editions” of Rubber Soul where the sound was “remastered” and another disc or two was released with it that has early versions of songs and outtakes from the Rubber Soul sessions. It’s like a deluxe version. It’s bootlegs.
ETA: there is a remastered version on Amazon and it has both the mono and stereo versions of songs on it. Interesting, but just that. Should have professionally released outtakes.
Now that I think about it I THINK the bootleg version I have is this remastered version with mono and stereo but fans added the outtakes. Can’t find my USB drive, dammit.

Okay I see now. Rubber Soul needs the Revolver treatment.
