Just finished:
Chris O'Dell was an American who, after a chance meeting with Derek Taylor, ended up as a minor functionary at Apple (she was on the rooftop).
She became a peripheral figure in the London-L.A. axis, gofering for various rock stars and banging some of them (including at least one Beatle).
Miss O'Dell (yes, she's the subject of the song) is far from a must read. Sex & Drugs memoirs bore me, though Miss O'Dell may serve some purpose as a depiction of how rock idols treated their women. The musical beds (pun intended) shenanigans actually come off as rather comic-pathetic after awhile.
Check it out only if you're searching for intimate details of George's private life, or are desperate for a very unflattering portrait of Eric Clapton.
With George & Derek Taylor:
With Mick Jagger:
Next up: Derek Taylor

Been on a Beatles binge today. The volume of incredible material they put out in an eight year span boggles the mind. No other band in rock history comes close.

Check out the partitioned brass (and reed?) section.
Must have really been something to witness, with all the talented session musicians in the same room with the Beatles, playing in real time.
Indispensable George Martin. As usual, directing, helping focus and shepherding the Beatles in their music. That guy (esp in their early days) was as responsible for the Beatles music finding its way the public sphere as much as the Beatles themselves.

those pix appear to be from the abbey road sessions for “something”. XM18 did a little thing on that the other day and talked about the strings/etc conducted by George Martin with George Harrison next to the strings playing his slide parts for that part of the song
