I feel the exact opposite. I'd rather John concentrate on his own music. Hell, Flea's EP was damn good, too. RHCP is definitely more lucrative, though.

I think all they guys in RHCP are amazing artists, so any solo projects they have are sure to be great.
I just look back at the best RHCP albums (Blood, Sugar, Sex, Magic; Californication; By The Way; Stadium Arcadium) and John was the common denominator.

What about Tool? I'd just love to see them live. Never got a chance to before.

Tool is not done. They are working on an album likely to be released the first part of 2014.

Bring Newsted back
I'm tired of that fricking ape of a bass player.

The Firm. PR still sounds great & Jimmy's gotta have one more in him. Don't think they ended on bad terms so Slade & Franklin would probably be game.
Heads and Police great ones too. How bout Difford & Tolbrook make another Squeeze record? Or Tears for Fears, all pretty essential 80s. Or Blue f#%kin Murder!
*** or Genesis

Beast Mode. Still one of rock's best guitar tones, and most folks don't know who he is.

Most people don't know he wrote and played the majority of the guitar parts on the 1987 Whitesnake album in addition to the final Thin Lizzy studio album Thunder & Lightning.

Truth. He's Exhibit A in any underappreciated thread.
