I'd never heard of this band until they found their way into my Spotify algorithm. They released a couple of interesting singles this year, then put out the full album, Stung!, last week.
I haven't listened to any of their other albums, but this album has an interesting sound. It has an 80's feel to it at times and also sounds like a mix between MGMT and Tame Impala. There are some "dancy" tracks ("So Lo" and "(I'm) Stung" ) and also some prog sounding tracks ("Neon River" and "Edge of the World Part 3".
It's nice to see some new music that piques my interest, which seems more rare as time goes on. Anyone else familiar with this band?
(I'm) Stung
Neon River
Edge of the World Pt 3

The day I create my TD account there is a thread of one of my favorite bands..
I really like the new record overall...super pretty sounding music. Really glad we got EOTW pt. 3. The Weather is still my favorite POND record. Allbrook is a really interesting cat.

Welcome to the board, baw! What's the story with the EOTW songs that span across different albums?
Make sure you introduce yourself to the OT

Pt 1+2 were on The Weather. Pretty cool they revisited it 3 albums later.

I keep hearing new things. So Lo is like a Bowie Tribute. EOTW feels very Floydish at times.

Cheryl Waters and KEXP put us onto Pond long before we would've found them organically, as they did with a lot of other bands. Most of the band from their first KEXP show consisted of Tame Impala band members playing different instruments, so we were hooked immediately
We were taking in everything in that vein of music as fast as they could put it out, (O.C.'s, **FUZZ** Tame Impala, Pond, Wand, every other Ty Segall project, KG, Murlocs etc...) 2014-2019 are my golden years for music.
Pond never seemed to break through like the other bands though. When they put out Tasmania, it seemed like "Sixteen Days" (go listen to it a couple times if you've never heard it) was their ticket to the top. Very catchy tune..."now i know how a sucker fish feels, shite. Better call my dad," outlandish music video with a little snark in both. Haven't heard much from them since. Haven't listened to the new album but I'll try it out after I finish relistening to Tasmania

Cheryl has seen some awesome performances. She got me into King Gizzard.
