It has both—they are interchangeable. I am using the straight.

What's on the chopping block this week. (Apologize for the pic quality, next time will improve upon. Just wanted to share some vinyl).

[/img]

Akira OST: Official repress of the one and only. Been waiting over a decade for this. Kinda sad since the bootleg I finally picked up last year is now almost worthless.

[/img]

Library of Sound Grooves: Jazz Expressions of Italian Cinema (1963-1975): Pretty much anything on Semi Automatic Records has been straight dope. Runs the gamut of jazz and has a sick track from Ennio Morricone on it.

[/img]

David Axelrod: Songs of Innocence:
One of the holy grails of hip hop production. This record hits a sweet spot in the fusion era. A tweener, if you will.

[/img]

Horus Prince of the Sun OST: Picked this up cuz the cover is nice and its a Miyazaki film. Haven't even really had a chance to stick my ears on it yet. All the old Miyazaki film OST's are vanishing quickly.

[/img]

Bob James: Jazz Funk Classics (1974-1982): A hip hop legend, Bob James one of the most sampled artists in history. The white James Brown. A God of drum breaks. A decent amount of synth cheese on this but his memorable moments are just striking.

[/img]

Charles Mingus: The Black Saint And The Sinner Lady Repress : I just heard this jazz standard for the first time last year. You're not a man if you haven't heard this record. This is what I would play if Chinaski was coming over to hang out.

[/img]

The Fifth Element OST Mondo Records: Mondo Records never miss when they do a collectors edition pressing of an OST. Cover on this one is just immaculate. If you've never heard Eric Serra's score it's fricking awesome. Tough dystopian beats, haunting melodies, and some straight wackiness. I think you can still find these directly from Mondo's website but they wont be around long. Already fetching twice the coin of the og price lots of places.

Those all look interesting. I’m gonna look for some Bob James in just a bit.

In the meantime...

Herbie Hancock—“Cantaloupe Island”...Blue Note Records, CD, 1994/1964.
