The 2.5’s were the 3rd pair of SF speakers I’ve owned (the other two were bookshelf). I didn’t find any issues with the build quality, they seemed as solid as the Italian made ones. My change was due to their house sound. I find SF to be a relatively laid back speaker that is brilliant with classical, acoustic rock/ country, bluegrass, etc. My preamp
at the time was a Meridian G68 and was powered by a pair of McIntosh MC352s.

I wasn’t a fan of the warm Mac sound paired with the laid back SF traits. I ended up going with the Focal Aria 936’s. I listen to a lot of electric blues, modern blues rock, alternative, etc. and relatively loud. I found the Macs to pair very nicely with the Focal’s and do a great job at getting the most out of their tweeter, which can be bright. The Focal’s were pretty much equal to the 2.5’s in their ability to reproduce a delicate sound while also being great at handling hard rock and high volumes. My pair of Aria’s are gloss white and are gorgeous. I can post a pic if you’d like. I like the Focal sound so much, I ended up getting a pair of the Aria bookshelf
speakers for my office. I’ll be honest, I almost like the Aria’s more than my B&W 802D’s that are used in the theater/media room.

Given what you listen to, I would seriously consider getting a pair of older SF speakers and pairing with a sub. The right combo here is unreal. Running a pair of Sonus Faber Liuto Wood Monitors with a pair of used small SVS subs would blow the 3.0’s out of the water.

Thanks so much for the feedback. It sounds like the SF sound might be my cup of tea, as i'm looking for some warmth, and afraid of speakers that are too bright. But after checking out those Focal Aria 936's they have great reviews too, and i really like the simple style...and they fall within my budget. is that leather on the inside, too?

I hadn't considered going with a pair of monitors and adding subs for that low range, but could definitely be something to look into as well. Also, and this is likely a stupid question, but how could i add a sub to my integrated ma5200 without a sub out?

How are those Aria's in terms of brightness? I think i've read Focal typically leans a little bright, but i believe I read the Aria's were said to be more towards neutral and the middle. Also how is the bass? I do like bass that can dig deep enough when the music calls for it. It would be great if I could have all of that in a simple pair of floor standing loudspeakers.

The MA 5200 has a pre-amp output (RCA) that can be used for a sub.

Roky Erickson—“Don’t Slander Me”...180g LP, Light in the Attic Records, 1983/2013.

Kids, this is just good ‘ol Rock ‘n Roll music. This is the same guy that did the awesome album I posted on Halloween with all the “spooky” song titles.

The outro solo in "Who's Cryin' Now" is captivating.

Yeah, that's my favorite Journey song. I'm not a huge Journey fan, but damn, this is a fantastic sounding record.

Grateful Dead—5/8/77, Barton Hall, Cornell University...from the 11 Cd, 4 complete show box set from the famous early May ‘77 run. Released in May of 2017 for the 40th anniversary of the show...Grateful Dead Productions/Records...2017.

For those not familiar, of the Dead’s 2300+ shows, 5/8/77 is usually at the top of the list for “greatest Dead show ever”.

Holy shite! Are you kidding me?!? That's unadulterated porn. I'm on a couple of Audiophile groups on FB and your set-up is as good, and probably better, than 99.9% I've seen. I don't think I would ever leave that room.

I've got a budget system, especially relative to yours.
Power Amp -- Emotiva XPA2
Pre Amp -- Emotiva USP-1 (which I rarely use)
DAC -- Emotiva XDA-1
A/V Receiver -- Denon AVR-X4000
CD -- some shitty old Pioneer (don't listen to many CDs)
Video sources -- PS4, AppleTV, Firestick, XFinity
Turntable -- Technic SL-1700 w/Ortofon Blue
Sub -- SVS SB13 Ultra
Front Speakers - Polk RTi12
Rear Speakers - Polk RTi8
Center - Polk Csi A6
Projector -- Benq W1080ST (onto 110" screen)

Far, far, faaaaaaar from the quality of your set-up but it does the trick. I love music too much to rely just on some shitty bluetooth speaker or sorry arse small component bundle.

Second system...

Amp..........................Peachtree Audio 220 (Class D 200 wpc)
Pre amp/ DAC..........Peachtree Audio Nova (24/96)
Tuner........................Rotel art-1080
Turntable..................Denon DP-62L
Cartridge..................Denon 103R
Phono stage #1.......Lehmann Black Cube (solid state)
Phono stage #2.......Pro-Ject Tube Box (tube)
CD Player................Simaudio Supernova w/DAC
Cassette deck..........Nakamichi CR-7A
A/C Power................McIntosh MPC1500
Speakers.................Zu Audio Omen
Subwoofer...............Paradigm SW1000
Cables.....................Audioquest, XLO, & Transparent

There is also an active crossover sitting above the tuner. I use it when I rotate in the Magneplanar 1.7 planar speakers...I crossover the Maggie’s at around 110Hz and send the rest to the sub.

The tuner is connected to a 12’x12’ antenna in the attic—-on a good night, I can pull in AM stations from Illinois! (not that I am really listening to them).

There is cat6 wiring going from this system to the Araknis switch as well if I decide to add any sort of streaming device to it.

Emotiva is solid, well built gear. I use an XPA-200 to power 4 Polk Atrium 8SDi speakers.

It is fed by a Sonos Connect with a Motorola cable box running through the Sonos’ analog input (so I can hear the TV/cable box signal through the 4 outdoor speakers.

Everything is plugged into a Furman power conditioner.

Marco, you really gotta start investing in some decent equipment. At this point, you're kinda just wasting your time. It's embarrassing

Yeh... so I have..

Only thing I have is jealousy...

Marco.... you suggested the blue point or the Hana for a new cart. Would that be the next logical step in upgrading the system? Pretty sure I’m gonna do something soon.

Vena, Vandys, Nomad with audioquest cables...

What is the budget you have to spend?

You may consider moving to the next level up of Vandersteen—-I promise, the difference will be noticed in the first 10 seconds of playing music.

Moving to a larger speaker is sort of like moving to a 300hp six cylinder after spending a few years with a 170hp four cylinder—-and before you know it, you’re in a 600hp twin turbo V-8 M5...

But if you can’t do a larger speaker and want to do a cart, let me know your $ limit.

Yep, it’s got leather behind around the grill and around the drivers. You’re dead on about the highs. Lots of Focal’s do fall in the bright category. As an avid B&W fan, I’m certainly used to bright speakers. With that said, the Aria’s are not very bright IMO and have wonderful bass extension. They also come with a heavy steel stand with a thick spikes. It's hard to see in pics, but the last photo all that black around the drivers is leather.
