I am going to have a few cut for my Denon table (20"x16") and the 2 EICO tube amps (13"x10"), so not a big deal.
For all the Pro-Ject owners, your tables measure about 12.5"x 16.5", so I figure 3/4" over on all sides, which gives us a cut of 14"x18".
It is 3cm thick and will have a solid front and sides (no bevel) with slightly smoothed edges...all 4 faces will be finished and polished.

a little update...
The carpenter has been here the last few days knocking out the wainscoting and the crown moulding, and will install the baseboards over the next 2 days.
The painter comes back tomorrow and Friday to put the first coat of Sherwin Williams Pacer White on all the woodwork (that is the color of all the trim work throughout the house). The cabinets are already painted this color from the factory (you will notice they look a little different color from the wainscoting, as the wainscoting is only primed).
The granite should be installed atop the cabinets next weekend, at which point the bookcases and custom LP shelves between the bookcases can be installed and painted.
The electrician comes back next week to install all the outlets and switches in the gang boxes and make them "hot".
The hold up after that will be the QMotion motorized blackout shades for the windows, as they need to be custom ordered to the specific measurements of the windows, and may take a couple weeks to arrive after the factory gets the measurements (they ride in a felt lined rail system that is mounted to the window casings--that is how they achieve 100% blackout). The same goes for the plantation shudders that will go in front of the shades--probably 2-3 weeks for them to be built and painted.
In the mean time, the A/V guys will install all the Control4 boxes and modules for automation of the lights, screen, and blackout shades. I also have the Difinitive Technologies in-wall surrounds that need to be installed at this time.
I am also moving my modem, router, and switch into this room (it will be housed in the new bookcase on the bottom shelf--I want easy access to it). All computer audio will be hardwired with Cat-6--no wireless here! The Rotel Audio/Sonos system that powers the 4 outdoor/pool speakers and cable boxes for the outdoor TVs will also be relocated here (it was in a closet before).
I am having to have the exterior door and interior door that goes to the house custom made, as true soundproof doors are not easy to find, and many require a 3 month build time. So, for sound proofing the doors, I am using a solid 2" thick slab of wood for the inside door and solid wood coated with fiberglass for the exterior door. The jambs and thresholds will have to be built by the carpenter as they will no longer be a standard size since I went with double layer Sheetrock--the jamb is now thicker. I also found a company that makes full seals for the jambs and thresholds (flaps that drop down to seal the bottom when the door is closed)--and those will be installed by the carpenter.
Then the electrician returns to install the rail lighting in the ceiling and add the inserts to the cans already in the ceiling.
I am hoping all this can be done over the next 5-6 weeks or so, but realistically, because things never go as planned when you have to rely on others, I am thinking Thanksgiving...but I hope to be surprised with an earlier move-in date.
The carpet is the last construction part to be done. After the carpet is installed, I can begin to move in the audio gear and begin all the programming of the Control4 system.
Then I need to get a couch, chair, and coffee table.
It will probably take me at least a week to migrate all the media into their new home as I need to re alphabetize most of my LPs (it has become a cluster over the last couple years!).
These pics are as of this evening...
All of the wood trim will be the color of the cabinets (already painted) in the pic below...
The small nook on the left is a 5'x7' room where I will have my workbench and tools--my little audio repair shop.
Hope you enjoyed the read...sorry if I bored you!

Bored?? No way...an audiophile's dream setup with the Bob Vila "This Old House" step-by-step along the way...
If you've got any more granite slabs to offer, I'd be interested (happy to pick up, I'm in NOLA). I need to find a new cartridge and stylus soon as well, so recs are appreciated ($100 or so range...we've got a recent new arrival so cash flow is comparable to NO S&WB at the moment)
Foreplay/Long Time blasting at the moment, as loud as can be blasted with a two month old

You are on the list now. What are the dimensions of your table?
Posted on 8/31/17 at 1:30 am to Marco Esquandolas
Appreciated...it's 17 3/4 x 14
No custom stuff needed...I will take whatever is easiest for you and the other vinyl folks

I am giving the cutter a list of measurements and he is cutting them all custom--so it's up to you.

20 x 15 is perfect...as usual, you're way too considerate

This really can't be stated enough. I will definitely help a newcomer or ten once I have given up the status myself. It's so nice to have someone put in such time and effort into making recommendations (even if we all know he does enjoy it a bit!).

Any chance you can get a slab for a UTurn Orbit table? They measure about 17x14. Regardless, thank you for the generousity.

Chick Corea "Return To Forever", 1975
Just got turned on to this... Wow, this has to be one of the most beautiful things ever recorded during this time. Spellbinding, ethereal, captivating... Blown away by these great great musicians. Turn it up loud and zone out!

Logjamming, are you local? (NOLA, BR, Laffy, Mandeville)
If so, I have you down for a 14"x18" (same as the Pro-Ject tables).
