Anyone have experience with a Yamaha FG-TA Transacoustic?

I've been looking to buy my first acoustic guitar. I've been using an old beat up Fender loaner for the last 3 months, but seeing as I have stuck with it, I am shopping.
I've been looking to spend around $500 but this yamaha looks interesting. Any thoughts?

I like their 000 or OM sized. It’s a Yamaha though. I’d want to play it. Some are duds. Some are awesome.

Yamaha's guitars tend to pack incredible value for their asking prices. You get a lot of bang for your buck, whether you are spending $200 or $1,200.
It appears the money shot on the FG-TA is the electronics package. I recently serviced a SLG200S (Silent Guitar) with Yamaha's onboard electronics. It is at about the same street price point, and it sounded PHENOMENAL plugged in. It was really, really good. And the SLG played like a great electric after I set it up. If the TA's guts are similar to the SLG's, I'd suspect you're going to be quite pleased.
I recommend, however, you buy from a Sweetwater, MF, GC online, where you have a 30-day no-questions-asked return and money back guarantee ... so you can try in your planned use environment(s) before you commit, just in case the actual product doesn't deliver what the sales and marketing pitches promise.

Thanks for the feedback! I’m offering on reverb for between 400-500. Good advice on return policies with those companies listed. I appreciate the info!
And cool SLG!!
