Been listening to him for a few years now - one of my favorite artists. He just came out with a new album "Evening Machines" and it's incredible. Definitely in the folk vein so if you're a fan of Joe Purdy, Ray LaMontagne, Damien Rice, etc. you should check him out. Very good.

I've seen him a ton of times in concert, and he's one of my family's favorite artists. Here's a picture of him and my youngest son from a few years back.

He's absolutely incredible live, if you ever get a chance to see him. The one that absolutely slays folks is usually the version of Liars from Red Rocks with the Colorado Symphony.

He's definitely a top tier singer/songwriter for modern times.

That's awesome man! I looked up his tour info earlier and towards the latter half of his current US dates and European dates he's with Joe Purdy. Would love to see both of them together. Not coming anywhere near me though. I've been listening to this new album over and over.

Evening Machines is awesome. I've been listening to it almost non-stop.

Purdy is also awesome. He’s actually from Fayetteville, so he’s around here quite a bit. There’s a whole singer/songwriter connection to our area because of the Fayetteville Roots Fest which all of these people attend. Bryan and Bernice Hembree throw it, and their band, Smokey and the Mirror, tours with a lot of these people and they’re personal friends wirh all of them. So when the Fest happens it’s like a big family reunion and jam session where people jam all over town together and catch each other’s gigs and such. Sort of like jazzfest without the big fairground shows and focused on roots music.

I enjoy his albums but agree his shows are much better. Saw him a couple weeks ago at the Ryman then again last week in Asheville and both shows were fantastic.
