Wanting to try a couple of simple, gold leaf symbols on this kit guitar.

Simple Celtic cross, south of the bridge, and a Celtic knot on the headstock.

if we got any experts, yall help me out with advice. Please and thank you.
I've used a stencil and then taped it off perfectly, used a gold leaf pen,but I still got leakage under the tape.
Thinking maybe I should sand a slight pond, so the paint will run to the inside, then sand it off?
Or am I better off to use the sheets and tamp it in?

That all depends. If I screw it up, the answer is "never" But I should have it finished in a week or so.

The work doesn't really take much time, to actually do, but it takes a long time for glue and stain to dry properly, before you go to the next step.

So any reasonably competent adult should be able to assemble such a kit?

Yes, but expect to have to do some upgrading. I would suggest picking a kit that has a bolt on neck. It's easier to get it like you want it.
If you are good at painting ( I'm not), you can make it look exactly like you want. Good paint is pretty expensive though. Enough paint to do this body, was going to be about 120 bucks, that's why I decided to just do an aged looking stain job.
The neck and body in this kit were pretty good, and that's the main thing to me. Everything else can be improved.

Forgive me.

Did u do an acoustic or electric?

I assume electric as you talk about painting.

Yes, it's a les Paul Jr. copy.
If this works out well, I'm going to buy one of their telly kits and learn all that I can, before I start on My Nashville telly.

After that, I may give a go at building an acoustic. I know a man that builds some really fantastic guitars locally. He's offered to help me out if I want to try it. His guitars rival anything that I have ever seen or played. He even makes his own necks. He does a lot of beautiful wood inlay on all of his but not much pearl work.

Maybe, I won't know until it is finished. Going to use better wire.
The nut that came with the kit was just plastic, so I will put on a better one, before I even put it all together.
