Any of you old school guys into W.A.S.P.

They put a new album out a couple weeks ago. I just downloaded it on spotify. Sounds like I would expect but there is one really, really good song...Miss You. Wish they would tour here but later in their careers they have stayed mainly in Europe.

I was waiting outside the MS Coast Coliseum with my buddy for the Iron Maiden show in Feb. 85, which they opened. Still early in the day so the line was only up to about 15 or 20 people. One of the guys in line said "Hey. There goes Randy Piper." Sure enough, just literally meandering around inside the lower corridor, there's Randy Piper.
So someone tapped on the door and he came over and stuck his head out and chatted for a few minutes. Pretty sure he was high as hell.
I'll have to check out the new stuff. Had NO idea they were still doing it. Not sure what I'll think. Would probably have to say their 80's material didn't really stand the test of time to me.

I threw shot put in college and was at a meet in San Antonio, TX 1999 and a few Katz after the meet wanted to get drunk and I showed them the power of W.A.S.P.

Depending on when you stopped listening...if you haven't heard The Crimson Idol, check it out. It's a concept album Blackie did many years back. My favorite by them of all time. Really good stuff that definitely stands the test of time.

this is a strong album. probably my second favorite of their's----behind the debut. Miss You is good, but the rest are better.

I still have the self titled and The Last Command on vinyl. Love me some W.A.S.P. Crimson Idol probably one of my favorite cds of all time and the new one Golgotha is phenomenal.
