Headed out there tomorrow. Nice setup? Any great food?

Just saw Lynyrd Skynyrd. I know people call them a tribute band now but Johnny Van Zant and Rickey Medlocke put on a show. They were awesome! Saw a little bit of Living Colour. They sounded good but since they were on at the same time as Skynyrd hardly anyone was watching them. Felt sorry for them.lol Usual set up. Great time!

I really enjoyed the fest today. I liked the set-up and professionalism displayed. Heavy heavy police (gretna and coast guard) presence was a little shocking but my nola friend i went with wasn’t surprised in the least. Parking was easy although next time I might try the ferry. I’ll def go back next year
Oh and John Popper/blues traveler can really play some rock and roll blues

Really can't say anything bad about Gretna Fest.
Ticket prices, parking, food, security all fantastic.
Okay, sure, the acts aren't as big as premier festivals, but there are always great national acts on the lineup, and the local acts that perform there have smaller crowds than they would at Jazzfest which is great for my stress levels.
$60 for a weekend pass is an absurdly good deal.

This was my first time going, and I will definitely be back. The kids area is great, and it was all included with the cost. Even the facepainting was free, which is shocking.
The food options were plentiful, and most of the venders were very reasonably priced (there were a handful that were absurd though, but not many).
My favorite aspect of it is the actual setup. We loved the way they utilized the streets. My daughter kept saying it felt like Disneyworld as we were walking around, and I understand why. The town is very charming, and the layout of the vendors and stages was smartly planned.
We only watched JJ Gray (which was the reason we went in the first place), and we were happy taking in the area and not seeing the bands. While we wanted to stay for Skynard, the 8yo was done and ready to leave by 8pm.
Which brings me to my only complaint: 10pm start time for the final band is way too late. If you want this to be a family fest, which they clearly do, then you can't have the main bands playing when kids sleep. It forces us to leave early and miss it. Ending at 10 is ideal, and it's something they should adjust in the future.
Overall this was an awesome experience. I enjoyed this much more than the overcrowded, overpriced Jass Fest.
