No, they don't. A studio musician is called in because they know how to make a song sound a certain way in the studio. It doesn't matter how little or how much respect they have for the artist, they come in to get the job done quickly and for money

Damn straight. Going in there and doing a job doesn't mean they respect the 'artists' and their tune. They suck and hope they go away soon.

I like the article I read where it said the Doogie Howser looking FGL guy can't sing and that he's buried far down in the mix. It said his lip syncing skills suck too.

And who's to say that FGL write and sings good "country" music when in private but have to release these so called "shitty" songs in order to put food on the table. If they're sell outs then anyone who plays/sings/performs with them are just as guilty.

You can't have it both ways. Bash the artist then defend the studio musicians playing on their records.

Just like the studio musicians...FGL does it for the money

I don't know where to start. I'm honestly beginning to think you're one of those guys trying to defend your band. If they have any sense of musicianship or lyricism, it would show up in just one of their songs (most likely earlier stuff). Now since I take music to heart, I just went through about ten of their songs randomly and not one of them was more than 4 chords. You tell me where I can find one of these elusive "well written" songs because even their earlier stuff was the same shite different capo position. Taylor Swift style. I have yet to find a solo or some a progression that makes me think these guys have any clue about the depth of music. Take John Mayer. He put out body is a wonderland. Pretty weak song. But you have trouble finding ANY Mayer that isn't some sort of intricate in some way.

If you're saying that these guys could be good, yet aren't creative enough to make a good radio hit without the EXACT same shite over and over, then it doesn't make since. Zac Brown does it. Jimmy Buffett does it.

And I'm not saying simple isn't beautiful sometimes. Take "Hallelujah", its pretty simple other than a little chromatic walk into the Am, but its perfect.

What I'm saying is you don't release shitty songs, AND talk shite to Tom Petty if you're not completely serious about your music.
