I just bought one and want to put a Seymour Duncan Slug Humbucker in it but it’s built with a smaller Humbucker in it. how do I go about changing them out?

Bring it to a guitar shop if you have no experience

These things never end well. Someone will have to route out the new hole and then you'll never be able to make your guitar original again.

Yeah, don’t do it.
For one thing, you quarter the value of the guitar.
Unless it’s an Epiphone, then, who cares?

The pickup cavity will need to be enlarged from a mini humbucker/soapbar footprint to that of a full-sized humbucker, done with a router and templates specifically for the job.
Pickup routing is complex work on a neck-through, stepped body construction guitar like a Firebird. You will want a pro and you will pay him generously for good, clean work.
If you want full-sized humbucker performance in a mini footprint, I STRONGLY recommend you ditch the Slug and look into Dimarzio's offerings that fit a soapbar/mini footprint. No routing required.

I just compared the Slug specs to that of the Dimarzio DP209BK Super Distortion for soapbar. They are so similar (high K output, distortion class, ceramic magnets, wax potted) that you'd be foolish to not give the no-routing-required DP209 a chance before you carve out the Firebird for ANY high-output full-sized humbucker. My two cents.

fricking this.
Find a pick-up manufacturer that makes a humbucker that will fit your cavity. I'm sure there are many.
