Acoustic guitar amps--any reccs?

I'm looking at a Fender Acoustasonic 90w amp for $300.
Any strong opinions out there on good amps or ones to avoid?

Are you opposed to running your guitar through the P.A.? What's the need for an acoustic amp?

As my bandmates (more tuned in to this stuff than I am), with an amp I can run my guitar through it while running my voice through the PA--some separation will help our sound I guess ... and allow me to hear both guitar and voice better.
We play parties and such where we use our own sound system, so that's where an amp would be be useful I suppose.

So they want you to basically run the amp as a monitor for your guitar. Then it would have to be mic'ed and run through the board as well for it to come through everyone else's monitors so that they can hear you. It kinda defeats the purpose IMO. You can put as much vocal in one monitor as you want and pull some guitar out of it and then vice versa on another monitor and you should be able to hear your playing and singing perfectly. We've never had an amp for any acoustics on stage before so it just seems foreign and unnecessary to me, but they prlly know something I dont know. Im all for buying good gear too so go for it.

I have this marshall. It has DI outs before the master volume. So I dont have to mic it and I can adjust the volume to use as a monitor separate from the board.

I've had the fender ,and is a great acoustic amp. I sold it for 300 also, they're 500+ new. I went with a Rolland cube , powered ev speakers and a mini mixing board and love it.
You won't be disappointed in the fender , works great as a monitor ran through the pa , I prefer a amp rather than playing through a direct bax straight to the pa , but you can and I have . The average person can't tell the difference , they only know if you know the song and sound good or like crap, fact
