One of the the many PNW bands who cut "Louie Louie". Here they give the Rodgers & Hammerstein showstopper from Carousel the garage treatment (and the opening riff from "Stand By Me")

Tommy Dix - "Buckle Down, Winsocki" (1943)

From the musical Best Foot Forward; written by Ralph Blane & Hugh Martin (Meet Me In St. Louis). The song's military theme & keep-fighting lyrics made it very popular in WWII.



Singer Tommy Dix is still with us at age 99.

No link, and I know it was Marni Nixon singing (wonderfully at that) but “I Could Have Danced All Night” from the My Fair Lady movie version is sublime. And that last close-up shot of Audrey Hepburn is breathtakingly beautiful.
