Who here got their picture on the cover? I managed to get 3 pictures on there. Hope the album doesn't suck but I'm not too optimistic after the last two.

311 was cool in 5th grade when you didn't know all music wasn't a shitty reggae ripoff.

311 is a staple of the 90's and has a fanbase that's travels in comparison to The Grateful Dead. I know it's "cool" to hate them, but they will go down in the books as one of the greatest groups ever.

Yeah...the haters, frick em. Fantastic band that I've listen to since I was kid. Yeah the last two albums weren't as good as prior titles where almost every song is great but they still have some decent songs on them. Still a great band to see live.

I'd rather not take criticisms on musical tastes from someone who suggests Buckcherry Radio on Spotify

I don't care much for them now, and I think their music doesn't really hold up IMO.

But I have nothing bad to say about them per say, as that's just an opinion. Everybody's got one... That said, they were the first band I really really fell in love with in high school. I really appreciated their musicianship (and still do), and I think they're all super talented and they opened my eyes to musical acts who can play instruments really really well

Stereolithic was by far their best album in over a decade IMO.

Mosaic, eh. It'll have to grow on me, it was just meh after a couple of listens so far.

Nice, i'm on it as well but for literally a fraction of a second that can only be seen in super slow motion.

So 311 (and 311 conspiracy theories) is like a running meme/joke in the comments section of Stereogum. They actually set up the 'gummer, Raptor Jesus, to do an interview with Nick Hexum... and it's pretty amazing and awesome.

LINK /

Nick comes off as a really great guy who is a really good sport about the whole thing. Raptor Jesus also does a pretty good job of setting the tone for how I feel about 311 (which has been echoed in here a lot). They were really GREAT at a certain point in my life, but I haven't paid much attention to them since then.

Running is still one of my favorite songs of all time. I feel like it sounds different every time I listen to it, always hearing new notes.

So fricking good. One of my favs all time as well. The song before that No Control on that album is perfect soft/hard song also.

311 had three dynamic albums from Music-self-titled.

I have not really cared for them since...I surely do not want to watch a 50 year-old S.A. rapping on stage.

They had a helluva run.
