I would imagine songs and albums released in the 2000's would sell more than those released in the 60's and 70's seeing as there are a lot more people and more outlets to sell music.

i dont see what the problem is. there are more people on this planet now, and popularity has never been indicative of talent.

the 2nd and 3rd matrix movies made more than fight club has no bearing on how good the matrix movies are. it just is what it is. right place, right time, and the right crowd.

in 5 years we will look back at the avatar numbers and see it lower on the list, the same with titanic, etc...

there is a false sense of longing that people have for an older time. the big bopper was cranking out hits with terrible songs and people were lapping it up. tons of one hit wonders in the 60's and 70s too. but when people latch on to something now, its just forced down our throats. so many outlets are afraid to break away and be unique.
