And btw, Chapelle has said his biggest comedic influence was Looney Tunes, particularly Bugs Bunny, and you can just see Chapelle being influenced by this hilarity:

The fans that mattered are the legion of stand-ups that followed him and cited him and Pryor as their idols and inspiration. Carlin was the link from Lenny Bruce to every stand-up in the 70's and 80's.

So after adding up who everyone listed, looks like Mt Rushmore would be;

George Carlin
Richard Pryor
Eddie Murphy
Dave Chappelle

Other respectable showings was Norm McDonald, Robin Williams, Bill Burr, and Rodney Dangerfield.

There was a total of 52 different comedians listed (I excluded the list that was a clear troll).
