But why is Aqualad/new Aquaman co-head of the Justice Leage now gay halfway through 3rd season?

Did Ms Martian not put everything back together properly?

He and Miss Martian were never an item. His longtime girlfriend died between Season 1 and 2 (5 year time jump).

He's talking about Kaldur'ahm being in that coma while he was pretending to join forces with his dad. Miss Martian went into his brain to fix him.

I don't know where the gay thing came from, since the two guys were fighting over Tula previously.

Not sure if you are not sure where gay thing came from within show or my comment but just in case. On the most recent episode released Tuesday Kaldur, now Aquaman, and a dude that looked like Garth held hands and then made out.

And Yes. I was talking about Ms Martian frying his brain and then her later journey back in to repair it during 2nd season. Besides his previous history with Tula when repairing his mind there was no evidence of a secret gay thing going on inside his mind. Outside of faulty repair or residual attraction to males left behind by Ms Martian and Artemis after being inside his mind during this repair I guess they are just pushing sexuality as being fluid.

From the writer of the show:
quote:

"From Kaldur's POV, he is - at minimum - polysexual, which is not to say that he isn't pansexual, but he's never YET fallen for anyone that didn't/doesn't identify as male or female. He tries not to label. (1 of 2)"

"(2 of 3) To date, Kaldur has only ever been truly in love twice: with Tula and with Wyynde. He's dated other people, including Rocket. But he's only ever been in love the two times. So he's not defining his sexuality beyond the fact of these two people." "

(3 of 3) Please keep in mind as an old, white cis-male heterosexual, I'm trying to keep up to speed with all the current terminology. Emphasis on 'I'm trying.' Please forgive me if I'm not always caught up within my bubble."

Yeah I had to rewind that last scene a couple times to see if I was seeing correctly. Yep. Aqualad is apparently polysexual? Okay then. This season has definitely been the weakest of the 3, but not too bad overall.

Might want to focus on quality & focused story telling instead of trying to adapt to constantly changing politically correct terminology.

I hadn’t enjoyed the 2nd half of this season as much as past episodes and was 50/50 on continuing to subscribe. It has seemed less focused & more scattered away from prior seasons’ main characters lessening my overall interest (this might have started in first half & was just magnified by going to 1 episode a week) and was already dabbling into identify politics before this last episode. Gender & sexuality were apparently obvious in first half of season even with Bioship and Sphere to switching to them being more fluid in second half. Also, Beast Boy used to be funny but got annoying this season (new voice partly reason but not all) while increasing screen time this half of the season. This entire season I thought Kaldur had seemed weaker and shown less leadership than first 2 seasons. Though I think it was just season 1 & 2 main characters being less of a focus more and more (I do like forager), but they probably should not have Kaldur’s coincide with him having a gay relationship now.

Perhaps if they were still releasing 3 episodes a week I could stay interested in main story and see enough of the characters I enjoy watching, but I cancelled it yesterday before it renewed for another month. At some point when more stuff I want to see is on I may pay for a month and also finish this Young Justice season as well, but for now it just wasn’t worth it for us.

I meant that I was not sure where the gay thing in the actual show came from. I didn't think they'd hit on Aqualad/Man being anything but hetero previously.

I've been very disappointed by this season so far.

Turns out that wasn't Garth. I wish they'd made him look different so there wasn't the confusion over that.

So this was a casual question that was interrupted by the trouble alarm on this week's show. No other mentions. Wondering if that's a clue to Season 4.

Now that it's over...

The first half of the season was fairly strong and enjoyable. The second half had some sizable lulls but finished very strong with the final three episodes (that they released as a group).

Hopefully for the time jump to next season we'll lose Forager. He's a major drain on this series. I'm about done with Halo as well, but I don't see us losing her.

The final shot teaser for Season 4 was a winner. Looking forward to where they go with that.
