WVLA OTA Signal

Tried to watch the game last night but the over the air (OTA) signal strength was too week. Anyone trying to watch WVLA, 33-1, have a similar experience?
I can pick up WGMB, 44.1, perfectly. They both transmit from the same tower so I know it's not my equipment.

I have a similar problem here with KPLC. Have for years. I'm only probably 2 miles from the tower but my antennae catching the signal is always hit or miss. I've never gotten an explanation why, and it's been 3 successive antennas having the issue. The weird part is I get the CBS station fine.

TV and radio station towers broadcast out through multiple arrays, those arrays are usually arranged to meet FCC standards (not overlapping with some other station on the same channel or within one or two channels of it) and/or to focus the signal in a certain shape (usually to push it more towards a more populated area while still providing required coverage level to their city of license).
I left the broadcast industry many years before the move to digital. I know it takes more power to broadcast those but I don't know if they re-arranged arrays for that switch.
It could be that your location is just on the edge of however they have their coverage shaped. FCC contour map for WVLA - site seems to be a bit wonky to the point where you need to sometimes refresh the map's page to get the coverage area to show up.

Thanks for the reply. I checked Antenna Web and TV Fool websites and they confirmed I'm 10 miles from the towers. I'm in south BR near Pennington on Perkins.
It's been hit and miss with WVLA. Sometimes good, sometimes bad. I cut cable years ago so I have an antenna for all my locals.

The downside of digital is that you can no longer limp along with getting a weaker signal. Either you get it clear or you don't get it at all.

Crystal clear here in Prairieville. All of my OTA channels come in fine. Regular antenna in the attic.
