I just got back from watching the Avengers in 3-D. Amazing movie. Better than X-Men: First Class. The 3-D was awesome. I didn't get any headaches or get sick. I felt fine. My only complaint about the 3-d is when things came towards you, it was near impossible to focus on it. It just kind of made me go cross eyed. They need to nix that.

It's one or the other with me. A full house usually delivers a boost in entertainment, especially if the movie is actually funny. (recently The Hangover and Tropic Thunder.) An truly empty theater is cool, for reasons obvious and maybe not so obvious. I saw Spirited Away alone at Siegen Village, and It's one of the handful of theater going experiences I can recall at a moment's notice.

Does 3D work well on the really close seats?

Normal and empty everytime!

3D is vastly over-rated IMHO.
