It’s not really a show flaw to me because As a none reader I dont Care about Eskel.
As a witcher 3 player I barely Care about eskel
As a show watcher I dont Mind Yen getting air time. I don’t think an average watcher would care about Eskell dying.
I think we can all agree we miss Yen’s tits

Yen getting screen time isn’t really an accurate summation of grievances. Some people are spinning this a woke sjw problem and I’m usually first to call that shite out but I don’t buy it here. If they wanted that stuff they’d have made Lambert bisexual and played into Ciris subtle understated bisexuality as the deleted scenes I posted above provide context to. The problem is they have essentially taken what is already a very girl power story and it seems like amalgamated a bunch of somewhat minor supporting female characters into one of the biggest female supporting characters Yennefer. It’s just odd and I wonder how they’ll pull things off like the Lodge of sorceresses. I do agree with the last bit s2 needed less dumbass profanity for profanity sake and more nudity.

Ciri being bisexual isn't subtle in the books; it's explicit.

Just finished season 2
I enjoyed it. Wasn’t overtly worried about eskels death. However, didn’t like the way he was portrayed. He served a purpose though…esp with vesemir
I enjoyed the duny reveal
I read the books but tbh I don’t remember much from blood of elves…I’m glad they were able to add some action to the show and still position it correctly for the start of the “next”chapter…
I didn’t enjoy vesemir trying to kill ciri and “ciri” being responsible for some witchers dying. That was tough to watch
Overall a great viewing experience-all I can ask for! Looking forward to season 3

Is it though? You may be right tbh this series is massive and what exactly someone’s sexuality is doesn’t interest me in the slightest. I don’t remember her displaying traits of bisexuality until after what I’ll describe as trauma to avoid spoilers on the Wild Hunts world and even then I don’t remember it manifesting beyond thoughts. But I could be wrong because it doesn’t really matter.

She has a girlfriend in Baptism of Fire.

Seems like we are now to a point in this thread where spoilers are being discussed.
The series is mildly entertaining, no one can deny that. A lot of criticism coming from the book readers and gamers ive seen is that the show sacrificed a lot of its potential this season. I completely agree.
For me personally, aside from rewriting the story, I dont like that they focused in on the elf story. That was the most boring parts of the books to me. Wish we had laser focused in on Geralt and adapted 2 seasons of the short story books and some original material as filler before we get to Ciri.
The Hansa could have been some great TV...I shutter to think what they will do to Milva now

Alright we’re going full spoilers now. I shutter to think of how certain things will play out going forward.
1) The lodge: Once the coup happens and the brotherhood is no more how do they intend to have this rise in its place? It will presumably happen next season and they haven’t built Phillipa into any kind of character nor introduced enough of the others to fill out its ranks
2) Milva and Cahir: these two are my favorite parts of Geralts company but it really is true for all of them. It doesn’t seem like a logical transition for them to pivot too right now
3) Ciris power/intelligence/sword skills: My biggest issue here is again not laying proper groundwork. It’s a theme lol. How is she supposed to beat someone like Bonhart? They either will water him down or Mary Sue the shite out of Ciri
4) Emhyr: I touched on this earlier but he’s not Vilgefortz or a baby murdering megalomaniac villain. In fact he’s a rather soft antagonist who doesn’t really want to do evil or bad things and is the epitome of ends justifying the means

Yeah the Bonhart story has been pretty much botched already.

Yup. It’s a bit sad too since he really is basically the secondary antagonist behind Vilgefortz and probably the most outright cruel and sadistic. How are they supposed to introduce a human capable of killing Witcher’s and magic users with how OP they’re making geralt?

im guessing they merge the Bonhart/Vilgy character

I’m not sure they can since each one serves as a defacto final boss for the two protagonists. I’d say it’s more likely they scale Bonhart up in some way to make his power level fit for the show. Maybe make him a Letho type character Witcher from the school of the Cat since they have a history of shady shite.

All I hear is that if this show runner is still around for season 3, look for the ratings to tank.
Don't blame me, and don't say you weren't warned.
99% of the audience doesnt even know who the showrunner is. You are seriously out of touch if you think changing it will affect the ratings in any major way

Don’t think Lauren whatshername is in danger but the show is in a weaker position than it was after season 1. This really shouldn’t be the case for something intended to be a political dark fantasy epic as opposed to a serialized show about a monster hunter. I’d be shocked if season 4 follows the trajectory of pre release green lights.

i'm all for serialized monster hunter. especially if they are gonna stretch this to 7 seasons. they dont need a ton of plot progression per season to finish the books for that to happen. these books arent nearly as long as something like game of thrones

If they follow the typical Hollywood path, Vilgy will find some macguffin that makes him super powerful. Having dual antagonists may be a little too much to have for these show creators

Something that’s cool I didn’t know is the actress that plays Tissia voices Anna Henrietta in Witcher 3. If they intend to keep her suicide in I actually like them putting the Vilgefortz romance in there. It will hit harder.

I think the elves work better as a backdrop

That is pretty cool. I thought Nivellan sounded familiar like he may have been in the games at first.
