just started season 2 again, and this show is fantastic.
Mainly Fitz and Simmons but also tons of great characters and also having the time to develop both villIains and heroes over the course of each season. Seasons 2 - 4 are some peak TV
Not to mention the whole Ward storyline which is so nuanced and well developed - especially for mainstream tv

When Agents of Shield is over.
When you start your rewatch.

Because the writers and show runners put an emphasis on mixing all of the genres together with humor, drama, wholesomeness, as much grit and dirty that can be allowed on network TV, quality dialogue that is thick in substance but is also short and sweet enough that it's seamless and blends in well with each episode of and the theme of the season, and an emphasis on character development with the progression of friendships, romantic relationships, focuses on the nuance of the battle that takes place between SHIELD and the villain of the season and the villain usually has a personal angle against the team.
They also made it a point to make sure each character has their own personality that fits them so well.
And they expanded that approach to developing a personality and theme for any pairing on this show whether they be allies of foes like Daisy-Coulson having a father daughter rapport, Fitz and Simmons being great romantic partners that love each other but compliment each other so well when they're on duty coming up with a bio or tech solution for the team, or Ward-Garrett being the emotionally damaged child and the manipulative narcissist father figure sees an easy mark in that child and brainwashes him.

Ward's betrayal is a top 5 storyline in the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe.
It's a betrayal that shook me to my core and I have never ever been as pissed off at TV show than when Ward dropped FitzSimmons into the ocean in a box when they were begging and pleading for mercy from their friend and colleague and he just looked at them with a nonchalant face.

I am with you. This blew my mind. They were going to take one if their leads and not just turn him bad and kill him but permanently turn him bad then keep him on the show for years. Crazy gutsy and brilliant.
The show is also great because Chloe Bennet is hot as hell yet her character is relatable.
