It's just strange that this thread is active today. I just watched one of the Star Trek: Enterprise episodes with MacFarlane in it. If I hadn't been paying attention, I would have missed it.

It was more organic than the writing of Family Guy stuff - it felt like an animation of a real family instead of just pop culture jokes in rapid-fire.
Family Guy, as funny as it was, was the ultimate rote sitcom...every episode had the same formula...like paint by numbers and often the same jokes just kept getting re-used...be quicker with jokes isn't being funnier...King of the Hill didn't shotgun their jokes like Family Guy or Cleveland.

I still live FG. It can be a little formulaic but most shows are. Cleveland Show was ok but a little boring. King of the Hill just depressed me. never enjoyed it.

I didn't like it, but it does make for some top notch background noise.
