I really liked it. Very true to the book and the Batgirl stuff was good as well. The last fifteen minutes or so were fricking perfect.

Never read the killing joke book.

I was stunned that it ended how it ended instead of batman pulling joker's spine out of his body given what the joker did to Batgirl, his partner.

The ending wasn't as pointedly ambiguous as the comic. I had to point out to my wife

(*SPOILER)

how important it was that Batman continued laughing while the Joker stopped.

Really wanted to love it, but it was a swing and a foul ball.

I'm just not buying that Bruce would have let things happen the way they did with Barbara on the rooftop.

That added dynamic absolutely tainted the rest of the narrative.

It looked great. Hamill was great. I just felt like they missed the mark in adding things to flesh the story out.

I agree with all this. Hamill was brilliant. Everything else was just meh. I was disappointed. I was excited for it and was sitting there trying to convince myself to love it. I just couldn't.

Exactly how I felt.

I really really wanted to like it. But it just made Batman look like a complete a-hole....which I didn't buy.

I have. Several times.

Not exactly how the book ends. It's a little more ambiguous than the movie but it's definitely not some Mortal Kombat fatality like you seem to believe.

ETA shite I'm retarded, I thought you were telling me to never read ("Reed" not "red") it. I read your post again and it makes much more sense now. Sorry about that.

The best part was the Hamill interview before the movie.

Some of the animation was done well. Their take on Bolland's Joker came across nicely on-screen.

yeah a ton of people didnt catch on to the laughter and how it was portrayed. i would say most people who did not read the comic thought 100% that Batman and Joker just kind of "hung out" at the end.

The Batgirl stuff in the beginning really didnt bother me. I think it added to Batman's mindset at the end and also showed another instance of giving into his indiscretions. It gave me him more of human side.

I was more annoyed by the oracle stuff at the end. I wouldve preferred the movie to truly end on the puddle panel than showing this uplifting nonsense at the end.

I actually thought that was the best part of the entire movie. Just didn't really care for the rest of it.
